Summer Nichole McCroskey, 25, of Elkton, pleaded guilty on Thursday, Feb. 2 to federal charges related to her participation in a conspiracy to sexually abuse a child from the time she was approximately 4-months-old until she was 2-year-old, which was documented, produced, and distributed on the Internet.

McCroskey admitted that she and a co-conspirator sexually abuse the child through at least October 2021, producing videos and images of the abuse that were then shared through several platforms, prosecutors said.

The abuse included oral, vaginal, and anal penetration, as well as bondage, McCroskey said, adding that both she and her co-conspirator, who was not named by the Department of Justice on Thursday, participated in the abuse.

Additionally, McCroskey said she then distributed the files documenting the sexual abuse of the child to her co-conspirator and others using an encrypted messaging application.

When she is sentenced, McCroskey will face:

  • A mandatory minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in federal prison for conspiracy to sexually exploit a child and for each of seven counts of sexual exploitation of a child;
  • A mandatory minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison for each of five counts of distribution of child pornography;
  • A maximum of 20 years in federal prison for each of three counts of possession of child pornography.

Sentencing has been scheduled for Thursday, May 18.
